USING TRACKER S FOOTAGE BENNET AD CALLS BUCK EXTREME FOX 31 KDVR COM
Using trackers footage, Bennet ad calls Buckextreme
DENVER - Ken Buck has long known his face, that of the Democratic tracker, there, videocamera in hand, almost every time Buck stepped to the microphone during his successful primary campaign.
Now, just a few weeks into the general election, the rest of Colorado is about to get more familiar with that trackers work.
In sum, the ad aims to portray Buck, the Weld County District Attorney who beat Jane Norton in the primary thanks to strong support from the conservative grassroots, as extreme and inconsistent.
While the words in the clips are indeed Bucks own, the voice of a narrator that sets those clips up characterizes Bucks positions in very simplistic terms. Its typical of effective political ads, but, as is also typical, the narration overreaches.
For instance, the narrator says:Buck wants to privatize social security
What Buck says in the clip, however, only refers to taking money out of the social security trust fund asa horrible policy; and since winning the GOP primary, Buck has said repeatedly that he does not want toprivatize social security.
