From the Asheville Citizen-Times story of 4/20/10:National student loan guarantor Educational Credit Management Corporation has recovered stolen electronic records that included information for about 97,000 people in North Carolina, according to a statement today by Attorney General Roy Cooper.

ECMC President Richard Boyle Jr. confirmed in a letter to Cooper that DVDs containing data about 3.3 million borrowers has been recovered, stating that law enforcement did not believe personal information on the discs was accessed or compromised.
